Is this client liable?

Your client, Cheap Skates, Inc., has a pretty intensive security system, including disguised guards, cameras, and uniformed security personnel. One of the disguised guards witnesses a male customer sticking lipstick and other cosmetics in his pockets. The disguised guard grabs him by the arm and says, “You’re coming with me!” and walks him rather forcefully into the back office, where they shut the door and tell him to sit down and wait for the police to arrive. The guard stands between the customer and the door. The customer argues that he wears make-up and was going to pay for it, but was embarrassed about having it in his grocery cart. The customer later sues for assault and battery, and false arrest. Is your client liable?
