Conservative Christians..........?

It's really not that God sends* you to hell. He wants to save everyone from hell, because he loves everyone. I think you need to understand WHY christians believe that the only way through heaven is through Jesus. God created us to be in fellowship with him. to be his children, to be his friends. But God is all goodness, and perfection. When we began to sin, it seperated us from him. It tore us away. God did not choose for this to happen, we chose it, and it saddens him that we did. technically, one must be perfect to enter heaven, like god is perfect. God didn't want to leave it like this, because that would exclude all of us from being with him, which he desperately wants. So he gave us a way to get there. He gave us a precious gift. "the wages of sin is death" and death, in this context, means spiritual death: hell. So jesus paid that price for all of us. All we have to do is acknowledge what he did, believe in him as our saviour, and accept the gift. I know it sounds harsh to say that good people who aren't religious are going to hell...I know it's hard to understand why a loving God would do that...but the reality is that he isn't doing it, we are. God really does love everyone, your friend, all atheists, everyone from every other religion...and he wants what's best for us. but he gave us free will (so that if we chose to love and obey him, it would be so much more meaningful) and if we use that free will to ignore what he went through to give us a wonderful eternity...then that's our decision. I hope I clarified what christians believe...and I hope you don't think God is a vengeful kid with a magnifying glass, burning all us ants.
